Food, drinks, beach, sex. Food, drinks, beach, sex, repeat.
Now that I’ve got your attention…
There’s nothing like a vacation in Hawaii to take a break away from the stress of everyday life. Low on moolah, you’d be surprised how much a staycation at a local hotel with a pool can do for your relationship. Point is to change scenery and step away from the day to day stresses.
LIFE is Stressful
We’re a blended family and my girls were 2 and 3 when my husband and I got married. Um…yes! Imagine trying to fit in phone calls during kids’ bath time and first dates with two boys and my two toddlers.
As you can imagine, I was exhausted and always busy managing a new life, home, and the littles.
Fast forward 10 years into our marriage and we realized we hadn’t been on a long vacation alone since our honeymoon to visit his family in England. What?!
Take a Break
We booked Hawaii and made ourselves stop overthinking and conjuring up images of what COULD go wrong while we were gone and left to celebrate our anniversary.
It was magical!
We stayed on the beach and began each day sleeping in a bit, walking into the water, relaxing in the sun, eating by the pool, and back to the beach. The worries of everyday melted away and we enjoyed each other and actually laughed and recaptured those feelings we had when we first met.
We went on a helicopter tour of the big island and tried new foods.
The BIG “O”
A few days in we decided to drive to Hilo to see the waterfalls and then to the National Volcanic Park. The picturesque scenery was breathtaking and our newfound sexual energy of the trip took over and those conversations usually missed due to sets of little ears being around every corner began to occur.
Let’s just say that night I experienced an ending worthy of the palm tree and ocean backdrop awaiting us just outside our sliding doors.
Yes, it was that good!
See what happens when the laundry, to do list, and lack of sleep is absent in bed?
Schedule it NOW!
It took me YEARS to leave my girls more than three days to travel. Don’t wait until your 10 year or even 5 to take that step for your relationship. Do it now. Reach out for help from family and friends. They’ll be FINE!
